'you can not run away from weakness; you must fight it out... or perish. And if that be so, why not now, and where you stand
T'ali sat in the far corner of the cell with her knees tucked up into her chest. She didn't move or speak just watched. Watched as the guards came and went bringing her small piles of filth they tried to feed her or murky brown water. She did not move when the approached the cage she just sat there staring at them.
She had sensed that they were beginning to get nervous. They smelled, different. She didn't know how she could smell them or how she knew what the scent meant but it was just there so she decided to use it.
It felt like days had passed since she had arrived, a week, two. She didn't no. She didn't no anything and is was making her frustrated. She had come to her senses and wasn't as scared as she was when she first awoke remembering nothing but she was still uneasy as she learned of these things she could do.
She could smell things that she knew the others couldn't, she could hear the men talking out in the corridor even with the door shut. It was a quite whisper but she knew that it wasn't normal and she was beginning to wonder about her body as well. She had not drunk or eaten since she was captured and it was only just beginning to affect her.
But to her disappointment her skin wasn't anything special. She had cuts and bruises all over her and she was now sure she had broken ribs, she didn't know how many but they were definitely broken. Then it his her as she sat quietly that she didn't even no how she knew she just did and that was the most frustrating thing of all.
So there she sat quietly, watching there body movement, studying their language which to her surprise she was beginning to pick up on rather quick. She knew the time for action would come, she only had to wait.
"How are you doing tonight," said one of the guards, a human with a large scar on his face, "would you like some company," he chuckled scratching himself.
T'ali understood what he said and scoffed before realising what she did. The man stopped laughing as did the other two with him as they all watched her.
"You hear that boys," he said smirking, "this thing understands us," he said, "we should tell the boss but first im gonna have some fun". He opened the cage and walked in as the other two stood at the door.
Foolish, T'ali thought to herself. The man approached unbuckling his belt chuckling and T'ali stood up staying against the wall. They had burned her old clothes now, all she wore was some old stained white rag. It was almost like a sack that had a holes cut in it for arms and the head, she was sure that's what it was.
Just as the man was about to reach her she lashed out with her foot. The dorsum of the foot collided with the side of the mans knee, there was a rather loud crack and the mans leg gave out sending him sprawling to the ground screaming in pain as his leg fell limp.
"You bitch," one of the other men yelled as three more guards came in from outside. One of the men went to punch her square in the face but with lighting fast reflexes she stood to one side snapped the mans arm and thrust the side of her hand into his throat sending him to the ground.
THe other man grabbed her arms from behind and half lifted her off the ground as the other three came into the cell. She kicked one off his feet before the other two began to beat her and before long she was on the ground crying as the men stood over her kicking and spitting on her.
"Tell the boss what happened and that she can understand us," the man that restrained her said as they pulled the two wounded men out of the cell and shut it.
"Did you notice her eyes," she heard one of them said, "her iris's glow, there like blue, she is definitely not human".
"Turn out the lights, all of them," one of them said and second later darkness filled the room. She shut her eyes and sobbed quietly.
