Mission:
Session One - Jailhouse Rock
Location: Docking Area
Freight was the only life Charlotte Ashcroft knew. Having been rescued from the brink of death as child and bought to live upon the Columbus by a highly generous man to bring her up as his daughter. Naturally she learned the ways of the 'trade' from an early ages turning her hand to whatever and wherever needed.
She found however her specialty lay in an unusual area especially for a woman, even one bought up in the stars. Her body certainly didn't reflect her occupation neither did her desire to maintain the only thing that separates herself from her male counterparts - her appearance.
In her normal day where she could easily be over looked as a young man with long hair and soft features, she certainly carried herself that way and acted like a pig at times too. But in the relative comfort of her quarters she shed the tom boy disguise returning back the same child that was rescued years ago.
Weapons specialist, she chuckled at the formality of the position of the Warden. It sounded so cut and dry, but in realistic terms as long as one had the best aim, the strongest courage and a arsenal to back up anyone could be classified specialist. Lottie had those qualities plentifully.
Maybe that was what bought Jones and herself together at the loading ramp of the Warden as they eyed themselves up like predators.
"Cardassian eh?" She sneered at the hideous ship. "Not exactly graceful if she?"
"Yeah, she's kind of ugly.. but she'll take a punch in the face and come back for more." Jones put his hands on his hips and looked back at his ship. "So..." He turned back to Charlotte. "You are here to kill people for us... or at least wound them so that they try not to kill us. Are you good with a gun?"
"Naturally, do you wish for a demonstration?" Lottie raised her eyebrow a little, lightly brushing her coat which hung over the holster.
"Sure, if you are going to be shooting around me I'd like to see what you can do." Jones looked over at Charlotte, if she was as deadly as she was beautiful he didn't have anything to worry about. "There are a lot of bad people who are going to be trying to kill us and I need to I need to be sure that you can hold your own with them."
She smirked at his comment and drew up beside him. "Don't worry I've lived freight all my life, I know how to handle all sorts of people. Pick me a target," She nodded towards the docking area, "And I hit it with my first shot."
"How about this?" Jones took the can of soda of Slug-go Cola that he was drinking and threw it up in the air above them.
In the blink of an eye she whipped one of the pistols strapped against her hip and took aim quickly before teh Slug-go had reached the zenith of its arc she fired knocking the can askew with a sharp twang.
Several paces away the can fell, bouced twice then lay still punctured right through the centre.
"I suppose that is pretty good." Jones smiled at Charlotte then walked over to one of the crates that was being loaded onto the ship. He waved over to her then looked around to make sure there wasn't any customs officials around. "Your "Official" position is going to be weapons expert, but essentially if and when things get hot, I need to you to cover us and make sure I don't get a phaser round between the eyes." Jones opened up the first crate, inside was several phaser rifles, kinetic energy weapons, and older style ballistic rifles and and hand weapons. "Do you know how to use these?"
She lifted her eyes brerifly from the create to Jones offering him a wry smile before lightly running a finger over the largest of the phaser rifles. "So your expected us to come across some well armed offcials are you?" She straightnedcasting a more critical eye over the arsenal. "Hope you didn't fork out too much for these, this one is still stamped with the Fed's logo these older styles don't even come with enough clips of two rounds, but yes I know how to use them."
"I had some favors from people that needed filled. We've got plenty of ammo and such. They are more of an insurance policy if things do go wrong." Jones straignted up a bit. "So what do ya think? I'd be happy to have you aboard.."
She eyed him darkly squinting slightly. "What's the pay?"
Jones closed the case up and looked at her. "Ten Percent plus room and board, and a cut of any bonus we get. Plus you'll have a say on what jobs we do and such."
Dropping the last of the weaonary back into the case Lottie straightened having slammed the lid shut soundly. "Alright, count me in."
"Sounds good, it will be nice having someone as able as yourself looking out for me." Jones looked over at Charlotte and smiled. "Welcome aboard make sure you take grab your gear and have one of the cargo guys load it.
She was already waking away, "Who said anything about looking after just you?" She called over her shoulder before disappearing into the last of the setting sunshine to retrieve her belongings.
