Mission: Session 7: Changes
Location: Planet Peralon
Timeline: Current

Val examined the vial of water. It looked, tasted, smelled and felt like water but it wasn't. Several of the colonists had come down with something after drinking specifically from this well.

"I don't know, I've looked at the chemical composition, and other than some trace minerals, it is normal, run of the mill, H2O." She passed the sample vile back to her Peralonian counterpart. The think ridges around his eyes frumpled while reading the report that the tricorder was spitting out.

"None of the the fourteen other wells we drilled showed any signs of any contamination, same composition, same water, same underground source." T'aq stood up and gingerly moved over next to Val, his squat frame suiting him well in the higher gravity and atmospheric pressure of this planet.

Val on the other hand wasn't doing as well. She had been here almost a year already, and her body was still hadn't quite adjusted to the difference. "Maybe some interaction with the food? Local Flora or Fauna? Toad Licking?"

T'aq puzzled at the last expression. "What is a toad, and why would you lick one?"

"We'll, I" She paused for a moment. "Never mind, just an expression. Let's take these samples back to the lab. We've got medical supplies and food coming in here in a few days. Maybe that will help the afflicted."

"Perhaps, though a few of them probably won't make it till then. Perhaps you and the others are just not suited for life on this planet?" T'aq helped val up from the ground.

"Yeah, maybe, though we aren't leaving, we've already spent so much blood, sweat and tears on this place. With your help of course." Val smiled as she packed up the equipment.

"I agree, too much has been spent. We'll make it Lemons out of the Lemonade" T'aq stood proud, trying to make the point and using some of the woman's phrasing.

"That's..." She paused for a moment and saw that the man was proud of himself. "Close enough. Let's hoof it back"
