Location: Planet Peralon
Timeline: After Stagnent Water

Val looked through the window of the containment cell. All over the floor of the room was nothing but was once a humanoid. His abdomen clawed open from the outside, as if the man had been trying to get something from inside of him. In another cell, a woman, barely breathing, had cuts and scrapes all over her throat. Even in her vegetative state, her arms still twitching, trying to claw away the flesh.

"Doctor, three more cases, all the same." A young man walked up to her and handed a padd to her. "I think it is starting to spread. Some of the other colonies are reporting similar conditions."

"Damn, I thought we had it contained." Val looked over the padd. The blood samples were positive for this virus. She moved down the line of the observations cells. More of the same. Clawing, itching, and then the screaming, all she could hear at night was the screaming. The woman whom they had just brought in hadn't begun the cycle, but within twenty four hours, it would start, and in a matter of days, it would be the same.

"Should we contact the federation?" The man looked at her, pleading with his deep set eyes.

"Not yet. We can still contain, this, if we contact the Federation, they are going to want to quarantine the planet and probably irradiate it." Val bit her lip, staring at the woman who was sitting in the corner of the cell sobbing. "Bring up sample eighty five, lets see if she gives us consent to test it on her."
