Letters to Adam - 1

Hey kiddo, it's your old man. I know I've been out of touch for a while, and I'm sorry. I hope you and Kaylen are doing fine. I'm sure you are.

Anyhow, I just wanted to let you know about my new gig. Yeah, yeah, another one. Things on Providence went south, but you may have heard something about that already. I'm alright, though, don't worry, and I'm nowhere near the place anymore. Right now, I'm at Starbase 376. It's near the Klingon border. And yes, the gagh is fresh. It's also disgusting. Shaddup and listen to your old man.

I've signed on as pilot aboard the SS Warden. Freighter, of course. Groumal-class. Yeah, it's a bit nostalgic. She's been recommissioned and retrofitted, though. It's going to be interesting to see if all this souped up patchwork quilt of technology holds water. She's more comfortable than the last one, at least. The crew... well, they're a different story. We'll see how it works out.

Attached, you'll find the ship's comm frequency. Keep in touch, kiddo. I want to hear all about school and what's going on in your life. And with Kaylen, too. You guys make a good team. Spirit 'n' guts.

Well, I'd better go prep for launch. You've probably got a science project to finish. Or a girl to chase (kidding!). But seriously, you can't bury yourself in isorods 26 hours a day. Girls won't bite. Well, except for the Klingon ones. Anyhow, keep me posted on that front, too.

Okay, okay, I'll shut up. For now.

Take care of yourself, Adam. I'll see you soon, buckaroo.

Love,
Dad

PS: If you see your uncle, tell him I said he won the bet.
