By all appearances New Bajor seemed to live up to its expectations - a new glittering jewel that arose from years of warfare. Naturally however, despite its shiny front the smiles were only a façade. Every world had its dark and secret lives hidden from view. It was that she felt sure Jones had found himself after that scene with Order of Twelve and the USS Stargazer.

She'd lost everything on that freighter the crippled starship destroyed, and of course when she challenged the brass about her ship demanding compensation they barely battered an eyelid before sending her away leaving her high and dry.

Then, just when she thought she'd did a all new bottom Jones' message came in and just in time - she was hungry and broke. Even the image of her infant son she carried failed to lift her mood prior to then. With only the clothes on her back and side arm at her hip she crossed through the throng of people searching for a familiar face in the crowd.
