Mission: Session 3: Fear of the Dark
Location: Somewhere in federation space

Chase walked slowly through the habitat ring without bringing much attention to himself. His eyes moved steadily combing the room for every detail, every movement, every twitch, every step. Anyone of the people around him could be there to kill him and he knew it.

Section 31 had not only served him a burn notice but they wanted him dead. He was seen as a liability and a threat. He was good at his job which was why so many people would kill him for a dime.

Out of the corner of his eye he noticed someone suddenly disappear. They moved behind a person then never came back out the other side. This was what he was looking for. Chase began to move quicker but to any onlooker it would look as if he was having a leisurely walk.

He was too worried though. From what he could tell he was facing an amateur. Someone who liked to show off their moves. Experienced assassins knew that even if they have the skill its better not to use it if it will bring attention.

He wouldn't of even noticed the man unless he hadn't started shadowing people so he could have gotten closer. He should have just approached as a normal person.

Chase soon found himself in a dark narrow residential hallway. Everything around him were private quarters. It was the perfect place to be rid of the person following him.

“Ryder,” the assassin said to his surprise. This was not something he expected. Chase turned around to greet a man in a dark cloak, his face shrouded by his hood.

“Not very inconspicuous,” Chase said as he hand moved down for his pulse pistol.

“You have one chance,” the assassin said, “otherwise you die here”.

“I made my choice,” Chase said. Suddenly two men appeared behind him.

“Phase inverters,” he mumbled spinning around. One of them came at him with some sort of blade, Chase grabbed the man's arm snapping it in two and jamming the blade into the man's throat.

He managed to dodge a shot fired from the other man and pulled his gun hitting the second assassin that had appeared three times in the chest.

He then turned again to face the original assassin but he was gone. Suddenly he was form the side and was being pushed through walls. After passing through many rooms he managed to get away from the hooded man.

The hooded man threw a flurry of punches mostly hitting Chase in the chest. He managed to grab the assassins arm and threw him into a glass table. He grabbed the assassin by the head and kneed him square in the face breaking his nose and eye socket.

But when he pulled back the hood he was shocked to see a boy looking at him. He was no older that 18 years.

“Idiot,” Chase said picking up the kid and putting him on the couch, “why did they send a kids after me knowing full well you'd all be killed”.

The assassin didn't answer however only held his face in pain. He took the kids phase inverted and placed it on his arm and put his revolver shaped pulse pistol back in its holster.

“You should quit this job kid. Run now and they will think you are dead,” Chase said in a grim tone, “But if you come after me again be warned I will you on site,” he said before disappearing through the wall.

Suddenly he heard the door open and Chase spun around bringing up his pistol.

“Dont,” he said to the young assassin you had produced a gun. His had was shaking and tears strolled down his face.

“I have to,” he said with a sob, “they made me this way”.

Chase gave him a sympathetic look, “I know,” he said in a sad grim tone before pulling the trigger. The young assassin dropped to the group as the shot passed straight through his heart.

Chase walked over to the dead body and shut the boys eyes gently, “I will kill them all”.
