Jones was half asleep. More asleep than half but half asleep nonetheless when the sharp buzzing sound of the intercom woke him out of a dream.

"What! What!" Walt rubbed his face and blearily groped for the light about the bed.

"Si.. I mean Walt, we've just dropped out of warp at the mining post. They want to talk to you." Bruce's voice echoed over the old speaker, making him sound like a robot gone wrong.

"Fine, fine, I'll be up there in a second." Jones sat up and quickly left the room.

The corridors of the ship seemed lonely, the space in between stops was always quiet, unless you counted the bomb that nearly blew them to bits. All that echoed through the ship was the sound of his boots on the metal plating and the soft hum of the impulse engines.

The door swung open to the bridge and Bruce nearly stood up until Jones waved him down. "I told you, not starfleet anymore.. no need for that." Without looking back over he slid into his chair and hit the blinking comm."

"Captain Jones of the Warden N48E-MC here what can I" he was cut short.

"Warden, remain in holding pattern until your papers are cleared." Man on the other end, whom was missing an eye and an arm scowled at him.

"All of our papers are in check, I assure you." Jones held up a strip of latinum to the screen.

"I'll see what I can do to speed up the process." The dock master flipped off the channel and the screen went blank.

"Now we just play the waiting game." Walt said to no one in particular and hit the comm. "Once your gear is stowed get up here, we have reached our destination and should have a few days before we bug out. I hear the amenities here are actually fairly nice."
