Mission:
Session 3: Fear of the Dark
Location: Spacedock and Warden
"Keep an eye out for him. I don't want him getting off of this station." Miller looked at three imposing looking men standing in front of him, shrouded in darkness in one of the many back ally ways of the station. "Ya'll have his face memorized right?" Miller's slight southern twang was starting to come out, it only happened when he was tired.
"Yes sir." The three agents started to fan out around the station, like predators looking for prey. They had been ordered to keep a low profile, but if needed, they were to shoot to kill.
Chase sat in the corner of a small cafe looking over a list of ships that were coming to the station. Most he passed off straight away as they were heading into federation territory or had close connections with the government. One however stood out, the SS Warden. It seemed as if the ship always was heading out into rather deep areas of space which was perfect for him.
"More drink for you sir?" A Bolian stood over Chase and offered him more coffee. "You can tell a lot about a man by the way he takes his coffee.
Chase looked up at the man casually but he was actually watching the man for any sign of suspicious movements.
"No I am fine," he said getting to his feet throwing down a piece of latinum on the table. He found the closest console and contacted the SS Warden hoping to talk to its commander.
==Warden==
Jones was pulling the Warden into dock, the Klingon dock master had given him hassle about a slightly different registry number then what they had on record. With the promise of a Targ, all was taken care of. Hitting the switch on the dash Jones was greeted with a slightly nervous looking man.
"This is Walter Jones, Captain of The Warden, what can I do for you?"
"Captain Jones," Chase said in a flat and quiet tone, "I heard from someone you might be looking for some work. I have forwarded a file containing my relevant skills and I am ready to come aboard whenever you like".
"Yeah, we are always in need of some good people." Jones looked over the information file that popped up on side and smiled. "We aren't looking for too much trouble as long as you can keep it that way I'm sure we can come up with something. We are going to be headed to Lagahsi space as soon as we get a cargo load."
From down the hall one of the agents saw Chase and radioed the other agents to converge on his postion.
Chase paused looking over my shoulder, "I will be aboard asap," he said cutting off the comm before the captain could reply. He pulled his pulse pistol out of its holster on his left leg and let of three shots, hitting the agent three times in the chest. Chase did his best to make the shots non lethal but the lighting wasn't all that great.
He contemplated checking on the man but he was sure he had gotten off his location so he began to run for the warden.
From down the hall two more agents spotted him and gave chase to the man. It was this time that Jones stepped out from the air lock to witness the unfolding scene, phaser blasts flying everywhere and three men running at him. The captain ducked behind some crates and reached for a disrupter rifle behind the airlock. "All of you calm the hell down or else old man river here is going to start barking fire."
Chase slid behind a bulkhead and panted heavily. He had a large disruptor wound on his right shoulder blade and he was loosing a fair amount of blood.
"Captain Jones," he shouted while shooting blindly out of the air lock.
"Are you my new crewmember?" Jones watched as two agents poked their bodies out and started firing towards Ryder, Jones fired at them, knocking one to the ground, motionless. The other agent looked at his fallen friend and pulled him out of the hallway, back into the dark corridors, a silence fell over the bay. "You hurt? I think I scared them off. It was only on stun"
"They'll be back," Chase said getting to his face.
"My name is Ryder Chase," he said holstering your weapons, "And yes I'm your new crew member. No I wont tell you what that was about, yes they are after me, yes they are dangerous and yes I can pay you a lot of money and I can be an asset to your crew. I have......experience in bounty hunting and combat in general".
"Well in the short term, lets get you in to see the doc and get that shoulder patched up, then we can figure out how we can use you." Jones opened up the airlock and showed him in. "Welcome aboard the Warden."
"Thank you," Chase said hesitantly.
