Mission: Session 4: The Humans are Dead...
Location: Warden

A power nap had refreshed Lottie marginally as she moved with puffy eyes through the ship toward the messhalll. She felt bone tired, her energy level sapped from the boarding parties, the short lived hunt for Kyle among others.
Wearily she sat heavily, rubbing the sleep from her face and reached for the pitcher left upon the table. Typically it was empty.

Sighing she heaved herself back up and moved toward the solitary replicator: "Coffee," she grunted at the replicator. Nothing happened, and even after a frustrated slap the machine remained still and silent.
Sighing again she moved away and begun to search mythologically through the larder for anything edible
She paused, fingering the unlabeled tins with thought before selecting two and closed the cupboard moving to the next.
Her hunt drew up an odd collection of unknown tins, dried apricots, liquorice, a bruised pear and something might be a type of juice although it had a consistency of custard.

Using a knife from her thigh Lottie cracked open the strange tins to inspect the contents: tuna, carrots and another can of tuna. Pulling a face she tried a pinch and grimaced.

Jones was sore, it was all he could do to drag himself into the mess and sit down. "What ya got cooking sugar?"

"Care for a share?" she slide the can across the table. "We'd better make dock soon. I don't think I can stomach another mouthful of that."

Jones took up the tin sniffed the contents and grabbed a bit of food from the bottom. "Yeah I know.. it is all pretty bad isn't it? I'll have to see if we can get it fixed." Jones tossed the tin back on the table and looked hungrily at Lottie. "Though Klingon food isn't much better is it?"

Spooning a mouthful of vegetables into her mouth Lottie pulled a face. "Right now, I'd say it would be a toss up. Though call me boring, I'd still prefer my food not to twitch as I eat it."

Jones laughed and leaned back in the chair. "Hey, I just got word that Tyl is going to be leaving us as soon as we get to the station. Something about an old debt that he needs to pay back and this is the first convienent place that we can put in to drop him off."

Finger an dried aprioct Lottie popped the furit into her mouth and chewed slowly at the news. "So where does that leave you and the ship?"

"Well, leaves me a bigger portion of the ship for now." He stared at a bug skittering across the ceiling. "Though I'm sure he'll be back at some point. He has a way of coming and going like that. Though, I suppose technically that makes you second in command."

Suddenly the dried peice of fruit felt like a stone as Lottie tried to swallow it down bringing tears of discomfort to her eyes. "Excuse me," she croaked blinking feverishly. "You can't be serious?"

"As serious and an Andorian that has lost an antenna love." Jones smiled. "I'm sure you'll be fine, you shouldn't get too many phaser burns through your hair just yet."

She tossled her hair at the statement. "Thanks," she smiled, "That fills me with so much confidence!"

"I don't think too much is going to change really, you are already pretty much doing the job, you'll just be more involved in the business side of things as opposed to the cutting and skinning side of things, though I'm sure there will still be some of that." Jones stood up and pulled his chair over next to her. "Having some reservations about it?"

"I dunno," she said lowly pushing aside sad excuse of a dinner, her hunger vansihed. "I don't really know much about business...but I'll give it a crack." She flashed him a smile.

"Just remember all business is is getting the best deal that you can with giving up the least amount, and when dealing with Ferengis, make sure you have a loaded weapon." Jones flashed the smile back at her. "You'll get 10% of the gross instead of the net so you'll get a nice bump in pay too, I know that is sometimes secondary but yeah."

Lottie smiled weakly. "I'll bear that in mind. So I guess that leads to the next question: whats next, other then crawling to dock for some serious repairs?"

"Headed to Lagashi space I think. Some good opportunity and I want to see what we can do about Jan's eye." Jones frowned. "I'm going to talk to our Klingon friend see if we can get in and out."

"You mean that Ambassador at the starbase?" Lottie returned his frown. "I'm all up for having help and such, and I'm sure Jan would be thrilled to have both his eyes working again, but isn't there anyone else?"

"Yeah, I've got an old friend with the trade guild, she owes me a favor or two or three, I'm sure she'll want me to give her something back as a result." Jones stood up and went over to the cabinet, reached in, and pulled out a small silver pouch and brought it back over. "I know the federation can suck a lot of times." Jones opened the pouch and smelled it. "Here chicken, at least it was at some point.

She strugged, "I'm just not comfortable around the Federation that's all"

"Yeah I know love. Well tell you what I'll see if we can get a hold of Akiko and we'll see if she can get us in."

Relieved Lottie sighed tugging at the pouch Jones had tossed over. "Thank you," she answered. "I guess, I'd better tell you why I'm twitchy around the officals...before we were disbanded, I was in the marque with my parents before they were...hunted. Even years later wanted lists still exist. And I'm on them."

"Well... if it makes you feel a little better, I'm sure I'm on someones list somewhere." Jones turned and sat on the table. "As long as I'm around you won't have to worry about it, they'll have to take me out to get to you, and I'm not going to let anything happen to you love."

"I can handle myself you know," Lottie glanced at him sideways. "But thanks for the support."

"I know you can. Well in anycase congrats love." Jones reached in his pocket and set a chip down on the table next to her. "All the command and access codes for the ship." Jones moved away from her towards his bunk. "I'm going to go and take a nap before we go. Anything else hun?"

She picked up the chip and exaimed it. "No I don't think so. Enjoy your sleep, we all need it."
