Mission: Session Two - Space Junk
"Alright, time to go.." Jan said to himself, moving over to the tactical console.
Jan checked the video feed from the docking hatch, Walter's team had cleared the docking assembly and were engaged in a fire fight. Working quickly, Jan overrode the docking controls and sheared away from the station, tearing the aging clamp out of it's alcove.
As Jan broke away Kyle hurled the Drake back from the shadow of the ship, turning with such force even with inertial dampeners his bones creaked.
Turning from the station, Kyle focused on the small shuttles ferrying cargo from the station to distant mother ships. The first these small shuttles knew about their problem was three micro-photon torpedoes detonating in the midst of the swarm, scaring them and causing several to list dangerously, damaged badly from the blast.
Kyle sailed through the centre of the panicked swarm, turning about again to use his phaseres on the mess. He was able to disable several more shuttles in the swarm before the managed to raise their shields, and even then the old and outdated shuttles could still not prevent many of the shuttles from being picked of with micro- torpedoes.
As the swarm was scattered Kyle turned his eyes on larger pray.
*nice flying kyle, real hotshot in that little ship* Jan thought, turning the freighter to face the broadside of the capital ship, which was a mess of panels and parts welded together. Accelerating toward it, he brought up the limited forward shields and armed the phasers.
"Right...where's a weak spot?" Jan said to himself, the ship shaking slightly from the acceleration. Scanning along the hull, an obviously jury rigged panel appeared, right over a plasma junction.
"That's our target." Jan said.
"Locking phasers...adjusting power....firing." Jan said to himself, firing on the capital ship.
The capital ship lurched as the phasers struck the panel, severing the junction beneath it and causing several power failures. The ship scrambled to return fire and raise shields, re-routing power from other areas.
"DIRECT HIT TO MAIN POWER CONUITSSS" One of the gorn at a tacticle station belted out to the captain "WE'VE LOSSST SSEVERAL SSYSTEMS!. "REROUT FROM LIFESUPPORT RETURN FIRE AND LAUNCH THE SSSSTAND BY FIGHTERSSS" The gorn captain stood up and looked over the tacticle screen and saw the Warden firing again at it, the entire ship lurched. "Move the combat patrolss to the little ssship!" The captial ship fired a green energy beam at the rear of the Warden as the waiting fighters flew in towards the small drake.
The beam struck the Warden, ahead of the engines, destroying an eps relay.
Jan gripped the console hard as the Warden shook violently. An alarm went off and several consoles started shooting sparks and flames out of the panels. A mass of wires broke through the ceiling, catching fire and arcing randomly.
"Fucking A! Dammit, compartment J5 is depressurizing, sealing hatch..." Jan said to himself.
Jan targeted the capital ship's disruptor cannon, firing at it as the Warden ducked underneath the enemy ship's hull.
"Alert, Fire in Engineering, Alert." The Warden's computer said.
"Fuck, there's no fire suppression down there..." Jan thought.
Jan hailed the Drake, "Kyle, I need you to draw their fire, there's a fire in engineering that the suppression system can't handle."
"The capital ship is to strong for the fleet sir" Silas barks
"I know...., yet if we can smash their defends line then we can do something. EMP torpedoes loaded?" Max asked
"Yes sir, just give me a target" Kahila replied
"Split fire.....this way the outer ships are defect and can be taken out swift and painless" Max order as he raise his hand and waves down "Decloak!" the Batavia a k'vort class decloaks as the two b'rells decloaks. Batavia fires two green torpedoes as a small shockwave from the torpedo comes disabling the systems of two patrols ships "Take them out!"
Jan set the Warden on a randomized flight pattern, and hauled ass to engineering, grabbing an extinguisher along the way. Forcing the main hatch open, the fire raged near the warp core, the console in front of it engulfed in flames.
"Shit, that was brand new too..." Jan said, blasting the fire with his extinguisher.
With the fire resolved, Jan headed back to the bridge, the Warden shaking as it was struck with disruptor blasts.
The Gorn captain looked over the readouts on his bridge, there where several dead or dying systems and several portions of the ship had been destroyed, but luckily they had conceived this hen they pieced together the ship. "BRING UP THE SSECONDARY SSYSSTEMSS! AND THE RAIL GUNs!" Several Gorn scampered off the bridge and within moments they had emerged from an airlock and across the top of the ship to a large canon looking device that was emerging from the ship. One of them attached a portable force field to the hull around them and started taking aim at the klingon ships.
One of the remaining fighter groups circled in and tailed the Drake, firing wildly at the little craft, hoping to put a dent in the ship.
Kyle threw the Drake into a tight spin, suddenly slipping between three Old Cardassian Frigates. Most of the fighters pulled up, but several didn't, piercing on the frigates and cooking off their onboard munitions, Punching massive holes in the frigates and sending them colliding into one another, enveloping the area in a fireball "Woooo," Kyle whooped as the explosion destroyed several more fighters.
He smiled as he banked round to help the Warden in its fight.
Jan got back behind the tactical console, the bridge looking even worse for wear than he left it. The capital ship was too busy attacking the klingon ships to notice the Warden circling around behind it. The plasma junction explosion had created a hole in the ship's overall shielding, enough to fire through, or transport something aboard.
"Alright....some kinda weird-ass deck gun's been deployed.....portable shield generators....let's see if they can withstand my special gift.."Jan said, tapping into his transporter buffer.
Jan scrolled through the inventory of weapons stored in the buffer, torpedoes, rifles, grenades, until coming across a file with a very old date on it.
"Ah, I knew I still had one around..let's bring out that 'borrowed' shipment of C4." Jan said, materializing the C4 on the bridge.
A 200lb crate of C4 appeared on the deck, a time delay trigger sitting wired to the contents inside. Jan quickly set the timer for 10 seconds and activated the bomb. Scrambling back to the tactical console, Jan transported the C4 through the capital ship's shields, near the edge of the portable shield generator's limits.
The Gorn barely had time to notice the large crate that appeared next to them when the timer went off, detonating the centuries old C4, creating a crater through the hull of the ship. The blast was amplified by the shields, focusing it's energy deep into the internal structure of the ship.
"How do you like that, kyle?" Jan said.
"Meh." Said Kyle, smiling to himself as he wound his way around a bulk carrier, taking out its Engins with a well placed shot before Moving into a dense pack of ships. "We may need to bug out soon, it's geting very hot out there."
The smoldering hulk of the Gorn ship that had just been blasted nearly crushed the crippled shuttle as Amber attempted to maneuver around it. She opened a hail to the cargo vessel that caused all the trouble "Hey freighter, quit throwing chunks of starship at me, I'm on your side!"
"What? Who the hell is this?" Jan said.
"Amber Wilson, pilot extraordinaire. Long story short, me and the management here had a falling out." She said as she dodged another chunk of the defunct vessel.
"Right, whatever. You want me to beam you over? You're shuttle looks pretty useless." Jan said.
"I can probably do more good there than here. Ready whenever you are." Amber replied
"Standby...energizing." Jan said, engaging the transporter.
The pilot rematerialized on the bridge, looking disoriented.
"Welcome aboard, get on the navigation console." Jan said.
Most of the battle fleet that was left the guard the station laid in ruins, a few escape pods floated in the vicinity of the burned out hulks. The station master looked in horror as the ragtag bunch of ships had laid to ruin the defense force. Quickly opening up a subspace signal, a Gorn popped on the screen.
"We are under attack, send more help, they've destroyed most of the base defense!" The Gorn nodded and disappeared from the screen.
Kyle swung the Drake round and headed back to the Warden "I just detected a lot of warp signatures heading our way, you may need to take the warden and hid, I can hang here and claim innocence whilst waiting for the Captain."
"I don't think you'll look very convincing, and anyway main power just cut out, the Warden ain't going anywhere for at least...10 minutes." Jan said.
