Mission:
Session 4: The Humans are Dead...
Location: Sick Bay
Timeline: Shortly after the fire fight.
Pass was looking at the data files on the Lagashi. They seemed to have a very utilitarian view of medicine and biology in general. It was a perspective Morgan could identify with. Perhaps he would be able to source some materials he had been lacking previously. His research could do with some tweaking if he were to revisit it.
There was commotion in the corridor and Jones appeared, helping another man through the door. Pass closed his eyse and sighed. Switching off the screen the old man turned to his Captain.
"Are we picking up strys now, or is this a new crew member?"
"Little bit of both I suppose." Jones helped the man hobble up to the Doc. "Phaser wound I think, or maybe a slug, whoever was shooting at him wasn't happy. Fortunately I had a heads up that he was going to be coming so I swept them off the porch with a broom."
Pass moved to the man and pulled the loose jacket off his shoulder, exposing the wide burn mark. He pursed his lips, "Yes, well, from this wound I can tell you will fit right in here. Category three burns from a disruptor pulse set to kill. The blast itself must have hit something else... yes, I can see some metal fragments. Were you perhaps hiding behind a bulkhead at the time? No, don't bother answering."
He turned to Jones, "I will clean it and patch it. He will be back to meat shield status in a couple of minutes."
"Sounds good, already earning your keep around here, doc." Jones smiled at him.
Morgan mumbled something inaudible about applying for bonuses given he is doing more work patching the crew than Jan did patching the ship.
Ryder was watching the old man carefully. There was definitely something about that face that was ringing a bell for him.
"Have we met before," Chase said grunting as the doctor fixed his wound, "you and me".
Morgan froze for a moment considering Chases face before resuming the treatment, "I doubt it very much. If we had, I doubt we would be meeting now."
"If you say so," Chase said, noting the doctors hesitation. He decided to let it slip however, Chase was sure he had seen the man before, back when he worked for section 31 but he couldn't put his finger on it.
Who ever he is, Chase thought, he must have done something substantial to be on section 31's radar. But then again Chase was also being chased by section 31. This ship was his chance of a new beginning. He guessed it was the same for others as well.
"Do you have a name doctor," Chase asked.
"I have been called many things, but the Birth registry on my planet refers to me as Morgan Pass. Most people here call me by my function; Doctor. That is all of the fragments removed. Do you want this regenerated fully or would you like another scar to add to you collection?"
"It is fine," Chase said getting to his feet, "Pass," Chase said watching the man.
He spared a look at the captain and shook his head, "Doesn't ring a bell," he said, "Thank you, doctor".
Pass shrugged and began to put away the things, "My door is always open... at least it will be until Jan is able to reattach it to the hinges."
